A Palestinian resident of the Gaza Strip has been arrested for diverting building materials intended for the rehabilitation of the Gaza Strip to Hamas's military wing to be used in terrorist activities, the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) said Wednesday.
The Shin Bet and Southern District police arrested Tamer Ahmed Muhammed Barim, from Bnei Suhila in Gaza, at the Erez Crossing between Israel and the Strip on August 31.
Barim, 36, admitted during his interrogation to taking advantage of his position as a merchant to divert tons of building materials to Hamas for its terror infrastructure, according to the Shin Bet.
